M&A Directors
Directors lead our deal teams and are responsible to design, execute and manage acquisition searches. They provide strategic consulting to assist clients in developing and/or refining their acquisition strategies. Supported by the GPI process and research team, they strategically approach owners of privately-held companies to initiate transactions and advocate on behalf of clients. In support of closing primarily non-auction deals, Directors provide buyside mergers and acquisitions services. This is typically in support of the frontend of the deal process, from initial contact of an owner, to a signed letter of intent. They are also responsible for GPI business development activities.
Ideal qualifications include at least 5 years of M&A experience preferably as a buyside or sellside advisor serving the middle market or in a related role for a private investment firm or large acquiror. A candidate must be able to manage multiple projects and competing demands and have proven business development ability. A history of working with financial sponsors and/or large publicly traded company corporate development teams is greatly valued.

Research Analysts
Research analysts are key members of our deal teams. They gather, analyze and present information associated with the execution of searches and the evaluation of markets and acquisitions.
Analysts perform the key research to develop “Target Universes” for searches. A Target Universe is a list of every company that meets a client’s acquisition criteria. Research analysts also perform primary company research on each individual target to help prioritize candidates and provide important information needed to strategically approach owners.
As searches progress, research analysts assist in approaching owners, refining a client’s acquisition criteria, client reporting and deal related operational and financial analysis. Other responsibilities include leading specific industry sector research in support of GPI's vertical market practices. This includes tracking M&A activity, industry valuations, news, current issues and relevant trends, to develop a perspective on an industry's competitiveness, market influences and attractiveness.
Successful research analysts will be considered for Associate positions over time.
An Ideal candidate has an MBA or BA/BS from a quality undergraduate program. Past experience working as an M&A, market or research analyst is valued.
